Our own history with folk music started many years ago with the local folk clubs in Kent. We later went on to promote Fairport Convention in the mid eighties.
The first folk artists we signed to our original company HTD Records were Red Jasper and Rose Among Thorns (Elaine Morgan). Phil Beer and Paul Downes followed and in 1993 we recorded our first album for Ashley Hutchings and the Albion Band.
For us this was a major change in our company dealing with such prestigious artists as Ashley, Simon Nicol and Chris While. This album was Acousticity and one of our favorite albums we ever released, that is until now, as 11 years on we have just released Acousticity On Tour, a live album from those Accousticity days (1993/4). A magical reflection on just how wonderful this line up was.
From Ashley followed Fairport Convention, Magna Carta, Judy Dunlop and Chris Leslie, not forgetting the Morris On Series.
